Non-biological Parenting

There are thousands of children in California who are in need of temporary or permanent care. Are you a non-biological parent to one of them? Whether it be family members in need of assistance, or choosing to become a foster parent or adopt a child, it’s essential to provide these children with the love and support they deserve and need to flourish. Nurse Rona and guests discuss the challenges and joys of raising a non-biological child.

The Highly Sensitive Child

Some children come into the world with a temperament that is high in sensitivity. These children need parents and caregivers to understand how to help them feel comfortable, and to reduce the frequency with which they feel overwhelmed or over-stimulated. There is a wide range of sensory processing challenges, including some disorders. Join us to discuss what it’s like to have a sensitive child and to learn about strategies for alleviating stimulation overload.
